‎Counting the Cost

Throughout May 2023, we released a steady stream of content designed to improve knowledge and confidence surrounding governance and the cost of living crisis. Our aim was to empower current school governors with the knowledge needed to support schools during this challenging time.

The Big Help Out

To mark the coronation of His Majesty the King on Saturday, 6th May 2023, Governors for Schools was thrilled to join the Big Help Out. This was a voluntary initiative bringing together charitable organisations across the country to raise awareness of volunteering in the UK.

Boards Against Bullying

Bullying can have long-term effects on pupils’ mental health. ‘Boards Against Bullying’ is about highlighting the ways school governors can tackle bullying by driving strategic and cultural change in their schools. To help us achieve our mission, we teamed up with anti-bullying charity Kidscape.

All pupils, every ambition is about getting people who care about giving all pupils the chance to reach their ambitions onto school boards. You can help young people within your local community succeed in all areas of life by volunteering your time in a school as a school governor.

Wellbeing Governor

Our campaign ‘Wellbeing Governors’ ran from September 2020 to July 2021. The campaign aimed to showcase the importance of looking after the mental health of all those in your local school community – and the impact a link governor for wellbeing could make to your educational institution.
