Governors in all types of school have duties towards children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. It looks at the definition of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), how the needs of pupils with SEND are met in schools, funding for SEND provision, and the role of the board and link governor in securing effective provision for pupils with SEND. This short course sets out what you need to know. This eLearning refers to duties placed on governors in the English state school system; governors in all jurisdictions may find elements helpful.
