The Department for Education updated guidance for schools on suspensions and exclusions in September 2022 and last month issued further updates, coming into effect on 1st September this year, subsequent to new School Discipline statutory regulations being laid before parliament on 25th May. The role of governance is a vital element of suspensions and exclusions and falls within our compliance responsibilities.
