Taking the Chair: Volunteer Information Webinar

Learn more about how you can develop your strategic leadership and board experience by becoming a Chair of Governors! You will receive training and support, including a Chair Mentorship through iGovs. Chairing a governing board is an exciting challenge, and you can gain valuable experience to further your career while supporting your local community in a meaningful way. Chairs, with support from the vice chair and clerk, are responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of the board by keeping it focused on its core functions. Chairs also encourage the board to work together as an effective team, building its skills, knowledge and experience.
