Governors for Schools is an independent charity that receives no government funding
Predominantly, our funding comes from trusts and foundations, organisations and individuals. Their generosity enables us to find and place school governors on school governing boards across England and Wales.
Our services
To ensure our long-term sustainability and to evolve to meet the growing need of school and trust boards, we have introduced some premium services which we charge for. This includes the Enhanced Recruitment Service, Chair Recruitment Service and Trustee Recruitment Service. These offerings use more proactive headhunting and recruitment techniques to source skilled volunteers. While budgets are stretched in education, we know that effective governance is a crucial ingredient in both school and trust success. As a result, it’s vital the space invests in finding the right people for governing boards where possible.
Our free to access school governor recruitment service still remains at the heart of our offering. The continued support and funding of our valued corporate partners enables us to deliver this service. For those partners, we also deliver a full service to their employees, supporting them on their journey to becoming a school governor.
Additional sources of funding
Governors for Schools also receives funding from various sources for cohorts of the Pathway to Governance and Pathway to Trusteeship programmes.
