This Welsh Charities Week, we’re saying thank you to our dedicated volunteers who support schools across Wales. Since launching our governor recruitment service in 2020, we are delighted to have helped appoint 137 volunteers onto school boards in Wales.
The expansion of Governors for Schools into Wales marked an exciting milestone in our charity’s history. Since 2020, we’ve provided a free governor recruitment service for state schools in Wales, along with free governor development support.
This comprehensive support package includes access to monthly webinars, eLearning, our popular and CPD-accredited free online conference, and a bespoke Welsh governor induction eLearning module. This module was recently created in both Welsh and English thanks to a collaboration between Cardiff University, Governor Cymru Services, and Governors for Schools.
Senior Partnership Manager, Loren Nadin knows how much of a difference our mission in Wales is making to schools. She explains:
‘This #WelshCharitiesWeek we want to say a big thank you to all of the fantastic volunteers who have put themselves forward for governor roles, collectively impacting the education of tens of thousands of pupils across Wales.
We also want to say thank you for the support we have received from numerous charities, universities and businesses across Wales since we started our mission. Our partners have enabled us to widen our support for schools and volunteers across Wales, and we are very thankful for their support.’
Hannah Stolton, CEO of Governors for Schools, also extends her thanks to our volunteers this Welsh Charities Week. She comments:
