Attendance in schools – effective governance oversight (with Better Governor)

With many schools struggling to achieve pre-pandemic levels of pupil attendance, the subject has become a priority for both Ofsted and the Department of Education (DfE).

This webinar will explore recent research Ofsted has published on the issue, look at new guidance introduced by the DfE and consider strategies schools have used to bring about improvements in attendance.

We’ll also go through the role that governance can play, including the questions that governors and trustees should be asking in board meetings.

The webinar will be led by Better Governor’s governance experts; Steve Barker and Linda Waghorn and will be a mix of input from them combined with in-session opinion polls and the opportunity to have your questions responded to in real time.
