Diversity on governing boards

Inclusion is at the heart of what we do. With 25 years experience in the education governance space, we understand it’s vital that children see people of all backgrounds in board-level positions.

We believe that a diverse governing board is a stronger board, reflecting school communities and the wider country. You can read more about how we find school governors with different lived experiences and skill sets, to improve diversity on your board.

CPD-certified school governor training

Our CPD-certified induction course for school governors is a course ideally suited to those new to education. It offers information about key language, regulations and acronyms within the education sector so school governors can fully engage with meetings and school visits early into their role.

Each section contains real examples of actions and questions – to help them develop best practice and get the ball rolling from day one.

Remote school governance

Volunteers who don’t live in the school’s local area can join the board through remote governance. By joining meetings remotely through video calls, they can bring their skills to schools struggling to fill vacancies and offer an outside perspective.

Remote governance enables schools to improve board diversity, source different skill sets, and gain the experience and perspective of someone outside the community. That’s why we also find school governors who are happy to work remotely.
